How to Streamlining Business Workflows & Processes by using 3DEXPERIENCE Route Management?

What is Route Management:

Routes on the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform are a set of tasks to complete a given business activity. Routes provide a structured strategy to organizing activities such as getting permissions for a new product design. This not only saves time, but also guarantees uniformity and traceability throughout the process.

We'll look closely at how workflows and procedures are handled by Route Management.

STEP 1:

You just need to drag and drop the Route Management widget from the Dashboard tab under Collaborative Industry Innovator.

STEP 2:

After selecting the Route Management app Click the New Route button

STEP 3:

Click on properties tab > Specify Title > Specify Description >

Click on Advanced option > Select Route Base Purpose

STEP 4:

UNDER ROUTE BASE PURPOSE

Standard: The route may comprise tasks meant merely for notification or information, or it may include tasks requiring the assignee's permission or remark.

Approval: Only tasks requiring the assignee's approval are included in the path.

Review: Only activities that call for the assignee's input are included in the route.

STEP 5:

ROUTE COMPLETION ACTION

Notify Route Owner: The route owner receives a notification from the system after all tasks have been finished.

Promote Connected Object: If no other routes or requirements are preventing promotion and the route owner has promoted access for the connected objects, the system will automatically promote the object after the route is finished. The completion of the route is also reported to the route owner. Only if the route owner has promoted access to the object may you use this option if you have previously provided content to the route.

STEP 6:

AUTO STOP ON REJECTION

Immediate: The Route stops immediately

Deferred: The route stops after other tasks at the current level are completed or rejected.

STEP 7:

Then click on content tab where you can add contents to review.

STEP 8:

Next, select tasks from which you can define processes, as indicated below.

Now the New Route has been Created.

The assignee will receive notification once the Route has been created.
