What Is 3D Mold Creator (xMold) and How Does It Simplify Mold Design?

 3D MOLD CREATOR ( xMOLD)

3D Mold Creator (xMold):

 Creating molds for manufacturing is often a complex and time-consuming task.

 3D Mold Creator (xMold), part of the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, helps make this process faster and easier.

 It is a cloud-based tool that allows designers and engineers to quickly and accurately create mold designs.

What is 3D Mold Creator (xMold):

3D Mold Creator is a professional cloud-based tool for designing molds. It runs on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, so there's no need for heavy software installations. Can access it anytime, from anywhere, as long as an internet connection available.

Key Features of xMold:

 1. User-Friendly Interface

 xMold is easy to use, even for beginners in mold design.

 The interface is simple and intuitive, allowing users to focus on the design process without being overloaded.

2. Automated Processes

 The software helps analyze your part and provides guided tools to define parting lines, parting surfaces, and mold bodies.

 These automated features save time and reduce the risk of manual errors.

3. Seamless Collaboration

 Being cloud-based, xMold makes it easy to share designs with team members. EGS Computers India Pvt Ltd. www.egsindia.com solidworks@egs.co.in

 Team members can review, comment, and make updates in real-time, improving communication and productivity.

4. Integration with Other Tools

 xMold designs are fully compatible with other 3DEXPERIENCE applications, such as 3D Creator and 3D Sculptor.

 This smooth integration supports a complete product development workflow from design to manufacturing.

Getting Started with xMold

 Step1:log in and launch XMOLD

 To start using 3D Mold Creator, you’ll need an account on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform.

 Log in to the 3DEXPERIENCE platform.

 Locate and click the Compass icon in the top left corner of the interface. (Refer to the image for help identifying the icon.)

 A list of available roles will appear, based on what has been assigned to your account.

 From the list, select “3D Mold Creator” to open and begin using the tool.

Step 2: Import or Open the Plastic Part

 Start a new project or open an existing one.

 Import the 3D model that you want to create a Mold.

 Make sure the model is properly oriented and fully closed.

Step 3: Run Draft Analysis

 Use the Draft Analysis tool to identify faces with insufficient draft angles.

 Adjust the part design if needed to ensure proper mold release.

 This step is critical to avoid manufacturing defects later.

Step 4: Define the Parting Line

 Use the Parting Line Tool to automatically or manually create the parting line.

 xMold will guide you through selecting edges or faces.

 Review and adjust the parting line as needed for precision.

Step 5: Create the Parting Surface

 After defining the parting line, use the Parting Surface feature.

 The tool will generate a surface that separates the core and cavity.

 You can refine this surface if necessary.

 Use the Core & Cavity Splitting Tool to automatically generate the mold halves.

 xMold will use the parting surface to split the part into core and cavity bodies.

 Visualize and inspect the results to ensure accuracy.

Step 6: Generate Core and Cavity Bodies

 Use the Core & Cavity Splitting Tool to automatically generate the mold halves.

 xMold will use the parting surface to split the part into core and cavity bodies.
