What’s New in SOLIDWORKS 2026 Visualize: AMD Support in Stellar Fast Render Mode

With SOLIDWORKS 2026, SOLIDWORKSVisualize now supports native GPU acceleration on AMD hardware using the Stellar Fast rendering mode. This mode is powered by Stellar RealtimeGI, Visualize’s advanced interactive ray tracing engine that delivers faster, high-quality, real-time rendering.

Previously, AMD GPU users had to rely on the AMD Radeon™ ProRender engine. With this update, you can now enjoy the same seamless, high-performance experience that NVIDIA users have long benefited from - directly within Visualize. This change simplifies the rendering workflow while reinforcing native support for AMD’s latest GPUs.

To use this functionality, your system must have:

·        An AMD RDNA™ 2 GPU or newer

·        Support for Vulkan® ray tracing extensions

·        Sufficient VRAM (GPU memory) for your render workloads

Along with this change, the System Info dialog box in Visualize has been redesigned to better reflect hardware compatibility and rendering support.

To access it:

1.    Go to Help > System Info.

2.    In the dialog box, specify your GPU, Render Engine, and Render Mode.

The system then displays your hardware’s capability and Vulkan Extension support for combinations such as Stellar + Fast or ProRender + Accurate.

Benefit:

AMD users can now render faster, enjoy smoother real-time performance, and work within a unified rendering environment, no need for switching engines or managing separate workflows.

This update makes SOLIDWORKS Visualize more inclusive and optimized for diverse GPU hardware, ensuring that both NVIDIA and AMD users experience efficient, high-quality rendering performance.
