SOLIDWORKS Composer 2026 enhances technical communication with improved workflow efficiency and visual output quality.
New features include flexible filename templates, support for PNG and TIFF image formats, and multiple export options for videos, making it easier to create clear, professional product documentation and animations.

i)      Filename Template Optionsfor Workshop

The collectionname and collectionindex filename template options are now available in the Views section of the Technical Illustration and High- Resolution Image workshops.

These new keywords make it easier to organize and identify exported files from workshops. The %viewindex% keyword now assigns an accurate, automatic index number for each newly created view, ensuring consistent and logical file naming.

ii)      Multiple Image Formats for Generating Videos

This update provides more flexibility and higher quality when exporting animations, making video generation easier and faster.

You can use these image formats when exporting to MP4, MKV, and FLV video types, which now utilize the x264 library for improved performance and compression efficiency.

  • Setting viewport backgrounds with image files.
