What’s New in SOLIDWORKS Composer 2026: Smarter Workflows and Enhanced Visual Output
SOLIDWORKS Composer 2026 enhances technical
communication with improved workflow efficiency and visual output quality.
New features include flexible filename templates, support for PNG and
TIFF image formats, and multiple export options for videos, making
it easier to create clear, professional product documentation and animations.
i)
Filename Template Optionsfor Workshop
The collectionname
and collectionindex filename template options are now available in the
Views section of the Technical Illustration and High- Resolution
Image workshops.
These new keywords
make it easier to organize and identify exported files from workshops. The %viewindex%
keyword now assigns an accurate, automatic index number for each newly created
view, ensuring consistent and logical file naming.
Benefit:
This enhancement simplifies file management, improves workflow consistency, and
reduces manual effort when creating multiple views or outputs in Composer.
ii)
Multiple Image Formats for Generating Videos
You can now use BMP,
PNG, JPEG, and TIFF image formats for animation frames when creating videos
in the Video Workshop.
This update provides more
flexibility and higher quality when exporting animations, making video
generation easier and faster.
You can use these
image formats when exporting to MP4, MKV, and FLV video types, which now
utilize the x264 library for improved performance and compression
efficiency.
Benefit:
Enhanced image format
support ensures better control over video quality, file size, and compatibility
for technical and marketing visuals.
iii) PNG and TIFF Image File Formats
You can now use PNG and TIFF image file
formats throughout SOLIDWORKS Composer, expanding support for
high-quality and versatile image handling.
You can use these
formats when:
- Working with the
Texture Workshop.
- Importing PNG
and TIFF files as textures in Composer.
- Setting viewport backgrounds with image files.
Benefits:
This enhancement improves visual
quality, supports transparency, and provides greater flexibility for creating
detailed, professional-looking illustrations and presentations.
